  • Taipei Taoyuan Airport [28/9 Thursday]
Alhamdulillah we have arrived at the Taipei Taoyuan Airport at 6.15 PM, it took almost 5 hour from KUL to TPE. Sampai je airport before settlekan urussan immigration, we need to scan our hand carry luggage first. On that time we have arrived at the aiport, ribuan people berkerumun on that time like sesak gila and take almost an hour and plus juga settling things at the aiport including the immigration and luggage things. First thing first after settling everything, we collect out pocket wifi and also the simcard that have been purchased online through Klook. Easy! Book online than just pickup. Then we topup our EasyCard at the 7Eleven before heading to the MRT. We just topup each person around 500 TWD.

Thankfully, Taipei Taoyuan Airport offers convenient transportation options, including taxis, buses, and the efficient MRT system. We hopped on the Airport MRT to make our way to the heart of Taipei on that time. The MRT is link together with the aiport, so sangat senang just follow the sign. Basically, from airport to Taipei City got 2 MRT line which is the express and the standard commuter one. Both act sama je, bezanya lambat atau cepat je. Express dia berhenti dekat certain stop je - tak banyak station so dia lagi laju, but standard commuter dia ada banyak station - so dia akan banyak stop. But both will arrive at the same place which is Taipei City Main Station.

  • Taipei City Main Station [28/9 Thursday]
As I stepped out of the train, I was immediately greeted by the sights and sounds of Taipei. The station itself is a bustling hub of activity, with people rushing to catch their trains, vibrant shops and boutiques, and delicious aromas wafting from nearby food stalls. From airport to Taipei main station took almost an hour juga lah, dekat sini quite hassle juga lah disebabkan kawasan dia terlalu luas dan besar plus very crowded with people. It's like KL Sentral lah, every transportation link into Taipei Station so better watch out where are you guys heading to. Taipei Main Station is not only a transportation hub but also a gateway to numerous attractions, shopping districts, and cultural landmarks. From here, I can easily hop on the MRT or buses to reach any corner of the city. From there, we just proceed to Tamsui-Xinyi Line and stop at Xinyi Anhe Station where our Airbnb located.

  • Xinyi Anhe Station [28/9 Thursday]
We've just arrived at Xinyi Anhe Station and the view here is absolutely mind-blowing! Right in front of us stands the iconic Taipei 101, reaching for the stars and illuminating the night sky. The building's vibrant lights and sleek architecture create a stunning backdrop that is truly Instagram-worthy. Gitu. We simply followed the signs and directions provided by our Airbnb host to reach our destination. It took us less than 5 minutes to arrive at our Airbnb from Xinyi-Anhe Station. Sangat dekat dengan station, so takde lah beriya sangat nak mengusung luggage2 tu.

  • Taipei 101 [29/9 Friday]
First thing first, before we start our journey of course tempat wajib pergi bila sampai Taipei ialah Taipei 101, the most iconic landmarks in the world. Taipei 101 ni satu station dari our Airbnb station, so anytime je boleh pergi actually. Arrived je at the Taipei 101 Station, just followed the signboard towards Taipei 101 buildings. This towering skyscraper is an absolute marvel of engineering and design, and it's even more incredible in person! The view from down here is breathtaking, Taipei 101 itself got panorama deck on the top but of course will cost a money. We decide just to hangout down there je. Bottom of the Taipei 101 basically got mall inside it, that time when we arrived the mall haven't open yet, so boleh je nak jalan2 dalam tu.

  • Chiang Kai Shek Memorial Hall [29/9 Friday]
Then from Taipei 101 we directly straight to Chiang Kai Shek Memorial Hall. From the station, just follow the signboard. As we approached the memorial hall, we was immediately struck by its grandeur and majestic presence. The sheer size of the complex is awe-inspiring, and it's hard not to feel a sense of reverence as you stand in its shadow. The architectural design is a blend of traditional Chinese elements and modern influences, creating a harmonious and visually captivating structure. When we arrived, the time felt much later than it actually was, as 10 am felt more like noon. Therefore, it would be advisable to bring an umbrella or wear a hat/cap to protect ourselves from the considerable heat. The CKS Memorial Hall is surrounded by a stunning garden, and nearby there is also a park that we can conveniently visit. can lepak2 over there. It's a perfect place to pause, take a deep breath, and appreciate the beauty that surrounds us.

At first we planned to watch the changing guard ceremony, but we missed it. The ceremony start every hour 9, 10, 11, 12, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. Time tu dah panas sangat, takdan nak tunggu changing guard ceremony, kepanasan semuanya. The visit not cost any money since it free unless you guys want to enter the theatre near there if im not mistaken.

  • Taipei Grand Mosque [29/9 Friday]
Since that day is friday, so we dont want to miss the opportunity to join friday prayer at Taipei Grand Mosque. From CKS Memorial Hall station, stop at Daan Park Station. From there go to exit 2 and just follow the Google maps. Time tu, dah start ramai orang2 dari Indonesia nak otw ke masjid, so just follow them because they also otw heading to the same masjid. Alhamdulillah diberi kesempatan untuk menunaikan solat jumaat di bumi Taipei. Khutbah jumaat was given in 2 language, first in english than in mandarin. Its quite nice actually bila dapat tengok kepelbagaian meraikan agama islam. Since on that time is very hot, dapat lah kita berehat sekejap dekat masjid sebelum proceed to next place. Just outside the Taipei Grand Mosque, you'll find an Indonesian stall and a kebab stall. However, during that time, we made the decision to have lunch at Chang Beef Noodle in Ximen instead.

  • Chang Beef Noodles [29/9 Friday]
From Taipei Grand Mosque, we took a bus 235 from there and stop at the Ximen Walking District. As we entered the restaurant, the comforting aroma of simmering broth and spices instantly enveloped us. The cozy atmosphere and friendly staff made me feel right at home. The menu boasted a variety of options, but we couldn't resist trying their signature dish - the beef noodle soup. Before we dive into the details, let's address the most important aspect: the restaurant is definitely Halal-certified. You can easily spot the large Halal logo displayed prominently at the front entrance. Additionally, apart from their main menu, they also offer delicious dumplings that are bursting with flavor. Whether you're a fan of beef noodle soup or simply a lover of good food, Chang Beef Noodles is a must-visit when you're in Taipei. The experience will leave you craving more and longing for that perfect bowl of noodles.

  • Ximending Walking District [29/9 Friday]
Just walked from Chang Beef Noodles not that far then arrived at the Ximending Walking District. The streets were alive with colorful signs, bustling crowds, and a contagious sense of enthusiasm. It felt like stepping into a world of its own, filled with unique experiences waiting to be discovered. One of the first things that caught my eye was the incredible array of shops and boutiques lining the streets. As we strolled through the streets, we couldn't help but notice the vibrant street art and performances that added an extra layer of charm to the district. Maka berakhirlah sudah untuk hari ke-2 di bumi Taipei. From Ximen Station we stop at Xinyi Anhe Station.

  • Yehliu Geopark [30/9 Saturday]
Today, we have made the decision to join a tour organized by Klook, which we had previously purchased online. Just follow their itinerary and buckle up then sleep, know2 arrived huhu. First stop, we visit Yehliu Geopark. The park is famous for its extraordinary rock formations, sculpted by millions of years of natural erosion and weathering. It truly felt like stepping into another world, filled with whimsical shapes and intricate patterns. The park offers well-maintained pathways that allow visitors to navigate the area comfortably. As I walked along the trails, I couldn't help but feel a sense of tranquility, surrounded by the sound of crashing waves and the cool ocean breeze. It was the perfect setting to appreciate the raw beauty of nature. As we visited the park on the weekend, it was teeming with people, so it's advisable to bring an umbrella or wear a hat as the weather can be quite hot during that time.

  • Jiufen Old Street [30/9 Saturday]
Walking through Jiufen Old Street felt like stepping into a bygone era. The traditional architecture, narrow alleyways, and red lanterns hanging from above created an enchanting atmosphere that transported me back in time. It was a feast for the senses, with the sights, sounds, and smells of old-world Taiwan. A wide variety of street foods are available, including options like stinky tofu, taro balls, and many other delectable treats. Since Im going with family, there are so many stair to climb up and down. Fortunately, we had purchased our tour ticket through Klook, which proved to be a wise decision. Getting to Jiufen can be quite complex, involving multiple steps such as taking a train from the MRT and making a transit along the way. After that, a bus ride is required to finally reach Jiufen. Considering the fact that we were visiting during the weekend and it happened to be a public holiday (Mid Autumn), one can only imagine the immense crowds and traffic congestion. Prior to our visit, I had extensively researched and read reviews from others who had shared their experiences of reaching Jiufen. It became evident that securing a train seat and finding a bus could be quite challenging, not to mention the significant amount of time it could take to reach our destination. Ini bukan iklan berbayar ye, haha lebih kepada honest review.

  • Shifen Waterfall [30/9 Saturday]
Next destination, we stop at Shifen Waterfall or the other name Mini Niagara Waterfall. With its thunderous rush of water cascading down the rocks, the waterfall creates a mesmerizing spectacle. With its stunning visuals, vibrant atmosphere, and unique cultural experiences, Shifen Waterfall offers an incredible opportunity to create an unforgettable moment. On one hand, the beauty of the surroundings is truly captivating, but on the flip side, the overwhelming crowds along the path can be quite challenging to handle. Additionally, navigating the area can be quite cumbersome due to the numerous stairs that need to be climbed.

  • Shifen Old Street [30/9 Saturday]
For our last destination, we stop at the historic street, a vibrant and bustling atmosphere Shifen Old Street. One of the highlights of visiting Shifen Old Street is the chance to release a sky lantern. This tradition allows visitors to write their wishes or messages on lanterns and release them into the sky. Capture the magical moment as the lanterns float up, creating a mesmerizing sight against the backdrop of the old street. This street has many shops offering to sell you a large paper lantern, assist you to paint your wish/message on it, and then heat the inside to launch it into the sky - a great spectacle! All this takes place on the railway track that runs through the main street ... with a brief interuption for the train to come and go about once an hour. We decide not to join the trend because mahal betei haha, plus tak berbaloi. Other than these, seriously nothing else here so we spend around 1-1.5 hour at the Shifen Old Street.

  • Yangminshan National Park [1/10 Sunday]
After alighting at Beitou station from Taipei Main Station, we proceeded to wait for the bus outside the station. It proved to be quite a challenge due to the lengthy intervals between buses, and the fact that there was already a large crowd of people eagerly awaiting transportation to Yangmingshan.  First thing first, Yangminshan National Park the area is quite wide and broad. It literally like Cameron Highland la, its not a one place but more than one attraction. There are numerous attractions to explore along the way, and initially, we intended to make a stop at the Yangmingshan Flower Clock. However, we had a change of plans at the last minute, as we realized it might just be a park with a flower clock lol. We decided to conserve our energy and save time by skipping the visit and continuing our journey. Then we transit change the bus direct to the Qintianggang Grassland.

  • Qintianggan Granssland [1/10 Sunday]
It's absolutely stunning! The moment we stepped foot on this vast expanse of greenery, we were mesmerized by its beauty. The Qintianggang Grassland offers a breathtaking panoramic view of rolling hills covered in lush green grass as far as the eye can see. The tranquility and serenity of this place are truly remarkable. It's the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. The picturesque landscape serves as a perfect backdrop for capturing unforgettable memories. The iconic thing about Qintianggang Grassland is, there is buffalo everywhere. Kalau dekat Kota Kinabalu dekat atas tu ada lembu ala2 New Zealand, tapi dekat sini kerbau. So its quite different lah. Alhamdulillah on that time, cuaca mengizinkan untuk chilling atas tu, boleh healing atas tu dengan berlatar belakangkan gunung2 yang hijau, tak panas sangat tak sejuk sangat. The air here is fresh and invigorating.

During that time, we were in search of a suitable place for prayer. Regrettably, we discovered that there was no dedicated prayer room available. As the rain began to fall, everyone sought shelter and gathered at the information center. Kalau ikutkan boleh je nak solat dekat atas padang tu, tapi disebabkan hujan jadi padang pun basah. Then we tried to ask the tourist officer is there any space for us to pray, then Alhamdulillah dipermudahkan urusan, luckily the officer get what we want to ask and he do told us to use the 'Mother Child Room'. Hujan non stop on that time, sekejap lebat sekejap reda. The people already line waited for the bus and we waited for the bus almost 2hours +, mungkin lebih. Hujan ribut pun masih beratur tunggu bas, luckily we brought our umbrella and also we bought the raincoat, bak kata pepatah sediakan payung sebelum hujan. It was a truly unforgettable moment. We boarded a bus, only to be abruptly asked to disembark at a different station without any clear explanation, as the driver was speaking in Mandarin. Confused and fatigued, we patiently waited for the next bus to arrive, hoping to reach our destination soon. When the replacement bus finally approached, the urgency to get on board was palpable. Despite our exhaustion, we made a concerted effort to ensure that everyone, including our family members, found a spot inside the crowded bus. It took nearly an hour to reach our destination, and throughout the journey, all of us had to endure standing in a cramped and crowded space, surrounded by fellow passengers. This experience left a lasting impression on all of us. The unexpected turn of events, the language barrier, and the physical strain we endured made it a truly memorable and challenging situation. Gitu

Overall, the Qintianggang Grassland is a must-visit destination for nature lovers and those seeking tranquility. The vastness of the grassland, the fresh air, and the stunning views make it a truly remarkable experience. My tips is please planned to visit Qintianggang Grassland maybe visit early in the morning or on weekdays to avoid crowds and have the moment all to yourself. This will allow you to capture the sheer beauty and serenity of the surroundings without distractions.

  • Shilin Night Market [1/10 Sunday]
From Qintianggang Grassland, we stopped at the Shilin Station. Alang-alang dah sampai Shilin Station, so we decided to continue our day by visit the Shilin Night Market walapun kaki dah patak liuk berdiri dalam bas dengan sesaknya huhu. There is an underground path directly connecting Shilin Station to Shilin Night Market. Simply follow the signs displayed, and within approximately 5 minutes, arrived at the bustling night market. During our visit, we noticed that the market had just begun to open, so only a few stalls were operational at that early hour. Nevertheless, we made a quick stop to soak in the lively atmosphere of the night market. As what I can said, our night market slightly better huhu. If you want to buy the souvenir, at Shilin Night Market is absolutely the best place to buy because the price is slightly affordable from Ximending, Jiufen and Shifen. Additionally, you have the advantage of being able to negotiate the price to get the best deal possible. I highly recommend it as a top choice for souvenir shopping.

  • Leofoo Village Theme Park [2/10 Monday]
We purchased our admission tickets for Leofoo Village Theme Park through Klook. Although Klook also offered transportation options along with the admission fee, we chose to buy only the admission tickets. Therefore, we had to figure out our own transportation to the theme park. Initially, we planned to take the bus and waited at the bus station specifically for bus 5350. While there were alternative ways to reach the theme park from Taipei Station, we opted to wait for the bus since our Airbnb was near that bus station. Unfortunately, it started raining while we were waiting, and we waited for almost an hour. Just then, a woman who happened to be a taxi driver approached us and offered to take us to the theme park in her taxi for NT$1000, one-way, for the entire family. After discussing among ourselves, we decided to take the taxi since we were unsure when the bus would arrive. Plus kalau kira-kira pun harga ikutkan lebih kurang sama dengan naik bas, and naik taxi mungkin lagi selesa, know2 arrived. Initially, we believed that visiting the theme park on a weekday would be a great idea, assuming there would be fewer people. And indeed, our assumption proved to be true as there were significantly fewer visitors that day. Fortunately, we didn't have to endure long queues for rides, and the overall atmosphere of the theme park was pleasantly uncrowded. This allowed us to relax and enjoy ourselves without the worry of navigating through large crowds.

Leofoo Village Theme Park offers a wide array of attractions, catering to visitors of all ages. From exhilarating roller coasters that will leave you breathless to whimsical rides that will transport you to a world of fantasy, there's something for everyone here. Regrettably, the Muslim-friendly restaurant happened to be closed on that particular day, and we also discovered that some rides were temporarily unavailable due to maintenance. At that moment, we were unable to locate a prayer room, prompting us to choose a corner within the theme park where people not frequently walked by, as a spot for our prayers. Overall, the theme park provided a satisfactory experience, but compared to other theme parks I have visited, Leofoo Village Theme Park was just average. It lacked a sufficient number of thrilling rides that could offer an exhilarating experience. After concluding our activities, we decided to return to Taipei using the same taxi driver we had previously hired. Since we had her contact number, we reached out to her via LINE messaging app. Fortunately, we were able to negotiate a fare of NT$900 for the one-way trip back to Taipei, which was quite fortunate for us. As our final night in Taipei approached, we made a stop at Ximending to enjoy our last evening in the city before heading back to Malaysia.

  • Taipei City Mall [3/10 Monday]
As it was our final day, we made the decision to take a leisurely stroll in the vicinity of Taipei Station. Since we had already checked out from our Airbnb, we needed to bring our luggage along with us. Prior to that, we securely stored our belongings in the lockers conveniently located near Taipei Station. jenuh mat kalau nak mengusung luggage kehulu kehilir. The mall is conveniently located beneath Taipei Main Station, making it easily accessible and a perfect spot to start our shopping spree. The vastness of the mall is truly impressive, stretching over several levels and connected by well-designed walkways. It's like a labyrinth of retail therapy! On that way, ada satu kedai Indonesia, they selling a lot of Indonesia snack and foods, so we decided to shopping at the store and also grab our lunch to bring at the airport after that.

Maka berakhirlah our 6 days journey di bumi Taipei. As our incredible 6-day journey in Taipei comes to a close, I can't help but feel a sense of gratitude and fulfillment. Exploring this vibrant city with my family has been an unforgettable experience filled with laughter, adventure, and precious moments that we will cherish for a lifetime.

  • Apps
When exploring Taipei, I highly recommend relying on Google Maps as your primary navigation tool. It offers a user-friendly interface that is easy to comprehend and provides highly accurate directions. Moreover, Google Maps displays comprehensive information regarding fares as well as the estimated arrival times of MRT trains and buses, ensuring a smooth and convenient travel experience. Google Maps will show the path until you reach the destination. Everything is on Google Maps. if you lost, just Google Maps and follow the sign, it helps us during our trip.

And also Google Translate. With the advancements in Google Translate, which now has the capability to translate through audio, communicating with locals has become much simpler. This feature proves to be incredibly helpful, especially during our visit to Leofoo Village. I was able to negotiate with the driver using Google Translate, ensuring effective communication and a smooth journey throughout the day. Kalau tak dah macaam ayam dengan itik, dua2 tak faham. haha

  • Wifi/Simcard
When it comes to pocket WiFi, there are numerous options available that can be conveniently picked up at the airport. However, we made the decision to book through Klook and collect it at Taipei Airport upon our arrival. The fare was also reasonably priced, and the pickup and return process was hassle-free. Since we were traveling with seven family members, we encountered a limitation with the pocket WiFi, as it only allowed connection for up to five devices. To ensure our connectivity needs were met and to have a backup plan in case of any unexpected situations, I also decided to purchase a SIM card through Klook. This way, we could make direct phone calls if necessary.

  • Accommodation
We opted for Airbnb because, with my family, having privacy exclusively for ourselves was preferable. Additionally, choosing Airbnb proved to be more cost-effective compared to booking a hotel. We specifically selected an apartment that offered amenities such as a kitchen, washing machine, and a private bathroom. Our accommodation is incredibly comfortable and conveniently located close to a convenience store and Xinyi Anhe Station. Moreover, there are nearby convenience stores like 7-Eleven and Carrefour within easy reach.

  • Transportation
One of the highlights of using public transport in Taipei is the MRT system. With its extensive coverage and frequent service, you can effortlessly travel to all the major attractions and neighborhoods. The MRT stations are conveniently located, making it a breeze to hop on and off as you explore the city.

Another advantage of using public transport is the EasyCard system. This reloadable card allows you to seamlessly pay for your fares on buses, MRT, and even some taxis. So it likes Touch'n Go lah, can topup at any convenient store and If we no longer need our EasyCard, can get a refund for the remaining credit on the card. To do this, need to return the card to any MRT station, convenience store that sells EasyCards, or at the airport. The remaining credit will be given back minus a NT$20 service fee. We actually received the EasyCard for free by claiming it at the Taiwan Tourism Bureau in Wisma Goldhill, Kuala Lumpur. Along with the EasyCard, we were provided with numerous pamphlets and attraction books to enhance our trip experience. Additionally, they generously offered us a Muslim Travel Kit, which included a prayer mat (sejadah) and informative pamphlets catering to Muslim travelers.

Using public transport in Taipei is not only convenient but also cost-effective. The fares are affordable, especially when compared to relying solely on taxis or ride-sharing services. By utilizing public transport, we can save money while immersing ourselves in the local commuting culture.

  • Food
We brought our own food from Malaysia, which included 4kg of daging masak hitam (spicy beef), nasi impit (compressed rice), regular rice, instant noodles, canned food, and various snacks. Fortunately, our Airbnb was conveniently located near a 7Eleven and Carrefour, so we decided to purchase some additional items from the nearby convenience store. Prior to our trip, we also conducted thorough internet research to identify halal food options and Muslim-friendly restaurants in Taipei.

While in Taipei, we definitely wanted to experience the authentic Taiwanese Boba Milk Tea, considering it originated from Taiwan. Thankfully, there are several Muslim-friendly options available near Taipei City that we could explore. Basically, there are numerous option for muslim friendly restaurant. Luckily, Taiwan has been making significant progress in becoming more accommodating to Muslim visitors, resulting in a wider range of dining options beyond fast food establishments for us to enjoy. So jangan risau, there are plenty of option for us, but since our selera more to Malaysian food, we decided to cook by our own. Jimat!

  • Budget
Here is the breakdown of our total expenses during our 6-day stay in Taipei. This includes the cost of the flight, including additional charges such as meals, luggage, insurance, taxes, and service charges. The accommodation expenses cover the cost of the stay, including cleaning services and taxes. Interestingly, we managed to save on food expenses as we brought our own meals from Malaysia. While waiting for our departure from Taipei, we took the opportunity to obtain a refund for the remaining balance on our EasyCard. With the extra funds in hand, we indulged in a bit of shopping at the airport. We still had some balance left as we had already purchased admission tickets and other items like simcard, pocket wifi through online prior to our trip.
