11/1 (Sabtu) & 12/1 (Ahad)
  • KLIA
  • Kunming Airport
  • Kunming Railway Station
Our flight depart from KUL dalam pukul 9:50pm and arrived dekat KMG around 2:30am macam tu. We do fly with Batik at that time, alhamdulillah so far safely landed dekat Kunming Airport. Bila sampai awal, sunyi sepi lah airportnya huhu. Shortly after landed before that the aircraft crew ada pass kan borang before nak ke immigration so kena fill in all the details including the tempat tinggal semua. Dekat immigration ikut nasib, sometime the staff akan tanya sikitla pergi berapa hari, pergi mana, pergi dengan siapa. So everyone should know lah the itinerary before arrived to China, tapi so far semuanya okay je.

After settle semua, keluar je dengan arrival tu. A lot of kutu taxi dah ready dekat depan tu offer didi (taxi). We ignore je sebab our plan is to stay at the airport until subuh, and move to Kunming Railway Station after we done our subuh prayer. Basically we planned to pay for extend bed at 2nd floor, the airport provide the extend bed service but at that time, it was fully occupied. So kitaorang decide duduk chill dekat kerusi sebelah convenient store tu sampai subuh. Almost nak subuh tu, try cari area yang boleh untuk solat subuh, then finally we decided untuk solat subuh dekat level basement, satu floor nak ke metro. Kitaorang solat dekat Bawah escalator which is dekat situ very rarely untuk orang lalu situ, tapi people still akan nampaklah, open space kan but so far okay sebab takde orang kacau plus dekat Yunnan does have a significant muslim population so sangat selamat dekat sana.

After done solat subuh, kitaorang decide nak ke Kunming Railway Station by didi, actually boleh je nak naik metro ke Kunming Station tapi it consume time lah sebab kena tukar train semua plus our train to Shangri-la depart at 7:50am so better naik didi direct ke station. Then we book our didi for 2 cars as we go as group of 6 people, it cost us 1 didi around 60 yuan, and stop at the north side of Kunming Railway Station. After we arrived at the station, since we booked train to shangri-la, we should get the physical ticket before onboard. We bought our train ticket through Trip.com then we go to the counter on the right side and claim it. Agak kelam kabut sebab kena scan bag bagai, claim ticket pastu nak cari signboard lagi dengan sejuknya zzz so better for those yang nak ke sana pergi, sila sampai awal huhu. Nak claim ticket it require all traveler punya passport. Settle semua, naik train start lah our journey to Shangri-la. Train from Kunming to Shangri-la it take around 5 hours to arrived. On the train there are hot water section where you can use the hot water, we have our breakfast at that time with Maggie cup huhu, dah kebulur.

12/1 (Ahad)
  • Dukezong Ancient Town, Shangri-La (克宗古城)
  • Shangri-La Harmony Tazhongta
  • Yila Grassland
  • Guishan Park(龟山公园)
  • Yueguang Plaza (月光广场)
Alhamdulillah we arrived at Shangri-la around 12:30 macam tu. On before that, please stick as a group ya sebab dekat sana ramai seramai ramainya umat china, sebab memang bersesak dekat sana even dekat Kunming Station pun ramai gila. Our hotel very nice offer to pickup all of us, so we dont have to book a didi lah. Jimat dah! Oh one more thing, dekat sana we communicate dengan hotel guna wechat. After I booked the hotel on Trip.com, I just contacted them through Trip.com and asked for their WeChat ID so it would be easier for us to communicate later. On the way tu our places, the driver stop us at one of attraction place at that area which is Shangri-La Harmony Tazhongta. One of the bigger temple at Shangri-la, i believe. Then we arrived at our hotel which is at the Dukezong Ancient Town. After settling down with check in things, we decided to have our lunch at one of qing zhen restaurant. Basically, at the restaurant, everything is in Mandarin, but they have a large picture of the menu on the walls. So what we did was take a picture of it and show it to the waiter.

After we done with our lunch we decided to go back to hotel to take a rest and solat everything then we plan to rent a bike to go to Napahai Lake. In my opinion, during winter you guys not suggested to go to Napahai lake la, waste of time and sejuk gila naik motor. During winter the lake tends to shrink significantly, turning into a vast swamp meadow. So, there's not much to see, so it's better to spend that evening wandering around Dukezong Ancient Town. There are plenty of things to do in that ancient town! Balik dengan kekejungan sebab kesejukan plus one of our bike run out of battery ZZ tak pasal2 kena leg towing huhu. Malam to we decided to jalan2 area Duekzong Ancient Town, buy some heat pad and Chagee ofcoz!

13/1 (Isnin)
  • Balagezong National Park
  • Bala Village
  • Shambala Stupa
  • Echo Wall - Glass Skywalk
  • Grand Canyon
  • Dukezong Ancient Town
Today is the day! We’re eagerly anticipating our visit to the Balagezong Scenic Area. Last night, we requested our hotel to arrange a tour for us. They were incredibly helpful and managed to include the Shambala Stupa in our booking, which usually requires a separate fee. We got all of this for just 190 yuan! So kita kena gerak ke bus station for our tour, the pickup point not that far from our hotel pun very near. From Dukezong to Balagezong it took around 2 hours to arrived, and for those yang rasa semput ke better take the AMS pill first and bring the oxygen bottle as one of our member semput and memang pakai oxygen bottle tu dekat atas. Ikutkan macam okay je, ikut orang i guess, badan masing2 tak sama sebab sampai ke Balagezong, kita akan tukar bas lain pula and ambil masa dalam 2 jam lagi untuk sampai puncak plus jalan dia lain macam sikit liku sampai pening member.

Our first stop is Bala Village before heading to the Shambala Stupa. There, we can relax and enjoy a few cafes. We decided to take a break for a hot drink since it's quite chilly up in the mountains! Next, we took a bus to the Shambala Stupa. On the way, we began to see snow, and the roads were completely covered in it! We arrived at Shambala Stupa, subhanallah cantik gila. seluruh kawasan dipenuhi dengan salji. Cantik sangat, sebab sebelum sampai ini risau juga takut tak ada salji sebab banyak tengok review ramai tak empat tengok salji sebab timing tak berapa nak okay and luckily alhamdulillah that time we visit seluruh tempat cover dengan salji. We spent around 1 hour dekat situ before move to the next stop. After sakan main salji, we move to Echo Wall whish is the place for those yang nak main zipline, tapi nak ke station untuk zipline tu boleh tahan juga jauhnya, for those yang nak experience the zipline it cost only around 120 yuan. Next, the bus stop at the last station which is Grand Canyon, dekat situ got a few activities like kayaking but us got no time nak berkayak bagai huhu. Then semua dah kepenatan, berakhirlah Balagezong Tour, balik the bus akan pickup kita and hantar balik ke Dukezong Ancient Town.

Malam tu kitaorang have our dinner dekat one of halal food at Dukezong Ancient Town where we plan to have hotpot on that night sebab semua kesejukan nak menghirup panas2 which it cost us 266 yuan for 7 people. After having diner, since its our last night at Shangri-la we strolling around Dukezong Ancient Town pergi Yueguang Plaza. Luckily malam tu snow yang selebat2nya, we got experience those snow at that time dah macam hujan. The locals mentioned that it was the second time in 2025 that Shangri-La experienced snow, and we were fortunate to be there during that moment! Alhamdulillah.

14/1 (Selasa)
  • Tina Guest House
  • Halfway Guest House (Hiking)
Pagi tu kitaorang siap2 before nak check out and move to our next station which is Lijiang! Before that, we visited Yueguan Plaza for a stroll before heading back, and at that time, the entire ancient town was covered in snow! disebabkan malam semalam snow selebat lebatnya, pagi tu penuh dengan salji. After check out, we move to Tina Guesthouse near to Tiger Leaping George area. Initially we planned to book a bus to go to the Tina Guesthouse, tapi nak book tiket bus tu kemain susahnya dengan semuanya dalam mandarin words. Minta hotel book kan pun dia kata pening, sebab dia kata nak book bas tu untuk local basically sebab banyak detail yang kena filled in and last2 hotel arrange kan private transport ke Tina Guesthouse which is cost us 80 yuan per pax, if we go by bus only for RM30+ macam tu je huhu.

Sesampai2 je dekat guest house, after check in rehat jap solat dulu. Oh dekat sini we book hostel room which is jimat sikit lagipun untuk 1 malam je pun. We decided to have our lunch with RTE foods je sambil berbackgroundkan view of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. Subhanallah cantik gila view. Petang tu we decided to hiking from Tea Horse Guesthouse to Halfway Guesthouse, actually takde lah hiking lebih kepada jalan2 di lereng bukit lol sebab the trail was pretty chill—mostly flat with a bit of incline here and there. We were just enjoying the breeze and taking photos, nasib baik tak sesejuk macam dekat Shangri-la, chill2 je. Sepanjang jalan tu view sangat mahal ye, cantik gila tapi tulah jauh juga berjalan almost 2 hours and more i guess. Jalan tak sampai2 ingatkan dekat je ZZ. Sesampai je kat Halfway dapat lah rehat2 sambal berlatarkan view gunung ganang yang cantik sambil layan sunset, dekat situ ada cafe  kitaorang decide nak lepaskan penat dekat dalam cafe tu sambil tunggu our didi pickup us back to our guesthouse which is cost us total 120 yuan for picking up us pergi and return. Malam tu kitaorang decide untuk rehat je dekat bilik as dekat area tu nothing much to do pun plus masing2 pun dah penat dan malam tu pula sejuk dengan anginnya.

15/ (Rabu)
  • Tiger Leaping George
  • Lijiang Old Town
So, the next day, we were all like, "Let's go see Tiger Leaping George!" It's like, 30 minutes from our hostel, no biggie. We checked out early, around 11 am, and left our bags at the hostel because we were going to Lijiang after seeing the George. We decided to take a bus arranged by the hostel, you know, like a "pack-your-luggage-then-pick-you-up" kind of deal. The bus was gonna grab our bags first, then pick us up at Tiger Leaping George at 1.30 pm. We just let the hostel handle it all which is cost us 50 yuan per pax, super easy peasy!

Now, about Tiger Leaping George, once we got there, we had two options: escalator (which cost like RM50-plus) or stairs (free, but you gotta be ready to use your legs!). There were like, a ton of stairs to go down, so it was gonna be a bit of a workout! We decided to hike down the trail, and it was "quite a workout", but totally worth it! Dengan penat semalam pun baru nak cool down haha, mengenangkan nak kena membayo so gigihlah kita turun naik dengan tangga. Sesampai je dekat bawah, dah boleh Nampak clearly the George. The views were just "unbelievable". We saw all these "cool" waterfalls and "crazy" rock formations. Subhanallah memang cantik gila dengan airnya warna biru langit, sebelum sampai memang mengharapkan airnya warna turquoise lah as different season the George will change it into brown color macam kepala air. So we spend dekat bawah tu chill2 sebelum kena hike tangga balik untuk naik ke atas. Then kitaorang lepak dekat bus stop sementara waiting for our bus to pick us up.

So, we're OTW to Lijiang, and it's taking us like forever, around 2 hours plus. The bus drops us off right in front of Lijiang Ancient Town, so we WeChat our hostel to come pick us up. Our hostel in Lijiang Ancient Town is so nice, they send a luggage trolley to pick up our bags. But alamak, they only pick up our luggage, so we gotta walk a bit. It's not too far lah, just a short stroll. We check in and solat first, then we decided to have a late lunch near our place. Lijiang is actually full of Halal restaurants, so finding food is no problem.

Before that, we kaotim with the hotel to arrange a Jade Dragon Snow Mountain tour for tomorrow. It's quite cheap, only 420 yuan including the return trip and also lunch halal food. We did some research and most tours cost around 500-600 yuan. So, we got a good deal. Then we continue strolling around the Lijiang Ancient City Town and every night if im not mistaken got night market near to that ancient town. Ada lah 2/3 stall qing zhen so dapatlah merasa street food dekat situ plus belakang2 tu ada jual buah yang segar2 dan besar, besar gila pulak tu.

16/1 (Khamis)
  • Jade Dragon Snow Mountain
  • Lijiang Old Town
Yo, so today was all about the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain! Our driver picked us up from Li Jiang Ancient Town, and the drive was pretty epic, you know, with those winding roads and mountains in the distance. We got to the mountain and it was like, wow, so much snow! We took the cable car up, which was kinda scary but totally worth it for the views. The air was so fresh, it felt like we were breathing in a whole new world (padahal tengah sesak huhu).

After the mountain, we chilled back in Li Jiang Ancient Town. The evening was all about strolling around the ancient streets, soaking up the vibes, and trying some local eats. It was like stepping back in time, you know? Again on that night is our last night at Lijiang, so we decided to jalan2 sampai Lebam malam tu yelah sebab malam ikutkan lagi meriah plus ingatkan malam tu nak sewa baju ala2 Tibet tapi mikirkan duit plus sesejuk nak pakai baju tu so kitaorang decided untuk makan je lol haha.

17/1 (Jumaat)
  • Lijiang Train Station
  • Dali Train Station
  • Panxi S Bay

Pagi2 sepie dah Tarik luggage tunggu didi as our hotel tolong bookan didi for us sebab train nak ke Dali pukul 9.15am. So sampai je Lijiang Train Station tunggu afew minutes dalam 20-30 min juga baru boleh masuk. Disebab our ticket train just only rm21 je, seat dia lain macam huhu bukannya seat sorang2 tapii cer bayangkan sleeping train-katil bawah tu 3 orang kena duduk tak boleh baring huhu. Okay, so like, we took the train from Lijiang to Dali, about 2 hours, you know? And when we got there, OMG, so many people! Like, a whole lot of people! So we were like, "Okay, lah, gotta stick together as a group, no getting lost in this crowd!"

Once arrived at Dali station, then we decided to book a Didi, but like, a taxi came up and offered us a ride for around 60 yuan per person. We were like, "Okay, deal!" Main Tarik tali juga act, minta kurang dia tak kasi then we decided untuk jual mahal then dalam kalut2 tu ambil jugalah dia ZZ huhu. Dapatlah kitaorang satu kereta kalau tak kena book 2 didi sebab dengan luggage lagikan so kira okay jelah 60 yuan tu.

Okay, so we finally reached Dali Ancient City, you know? We managed to find our hotel as very near inside the ancient city We checked in first, you know, gotta get settled. Then, we were like, "Okay, jom gerak" We found this motor sewa area near to our hotel, like, right there, and rented an ebike for around 30 yuan each. First we stop to have our lunch at this recommended restaurant that we found on TikTok, near to kawasan masjid. Act plan asalnya after checkin inngat nak merasa solat jumaat dekat masjid dali tapi disebabkan our didi yang pickup us from the Dali station tu take a lot of time dengan main phonenya lagi zzz. Back to our lunch, restaurant tu quite nice sebab time kitaorang datang takde orang pun plus tempat dia sangat selesa dan cantik la, then after we ordered i think one of the owner kot approach us and offered us to have some tea. Dia demo lah and terangkan pasal teh2, sangat friendly ye huhu. Then after we have our lunch we proceed to go next stop with is Panxi S Bay which is main attraction dia yang lekok S.

Okay, fam, so I was like, "Otw to Panxi S Bay, yo!"  It's like, basically the same vibes as Cameron, you know?  Like, you drive past all these strawberry farms, and people are selling strawberries by the roadside.  Once we hit Panxi S Bay, we chilled there for like, 2 hours.  I rented an ebike, but you gotta pay with WeChat Pay and scan with WeChat Scan.  It was kinda a hassle, but I managed to snag an ebike and a regular bike.  We cruised around the area, enjoying the lake breeze in the afternoon.  There were tons of cafes around, too.  It was lit! Dapat lah merasa sunset dekat situ before gerak balik. Then we decided balik sebab dah senja and we planned the rest of the night dekat ancient city.

Vibe ancient city malam tu lain macam, like meriah gila and ada night market situ plus a few of qing zhen food stall and restaurant near ancient city. Misi malam tu adalah untuk cari kedai souvenir yang viral dekat TikTok sebab Harga dia murah. kedai dia agak jauh almost in then end of the ancient city lah lol. The key words is infront of KFC, so memang borong sakan lah malam tu huhu. Tapi mostly souvenir dekat situ are about Dali, sebab ingatkan nak cari yang souvenir yang represent every place that we went like shangrila, Lijiang, Kunming semua but takde so kita beli jelah apa yang ada. Dali Ancient City got many little shops selling souvenirs, handicrafts, and more. Can find some unique stuff to bring back home, lah! Just don’t forget to bargain a bit, okay? but lebih kurang macam dekat Lijiang Ancient City lah act huhu.

18/1 (Sabtu)
  • Ideal Land-Santorini Park
  • Olympic International Sport Centre
  • Greenway Road (大理绿道)
  • Xingshen Bridge
  • Dali Ancient City
So for today, we planned to spend our day dekat the other side of Erhai Lake which is Ideal Land-Santorini Park. Kitaorang guna didi to ke sana which is cost us satu kereta dalam 150 yuan. Santorini Park got no fee ticket so we just strolling around turun naik mencari best spot untuk bergambar lol. Kawasan dia agak luas plus berpusing2 juga lah dekat situ. Then we lepaks at the Chagee then we found this tye dye shop which is the cheapest one that we have found la. Sebelum ni tengok2 juga dekat semua tempat Shangrila, Lijiang, Dali tapi semuanya quite mahal juga. We spend at the Ideal Land ni almost satu hari juga lah, then we decided to go for feed seagull near to Xier river but no sea gull spot lol.

Then kitaorang naik didi dari Ideal Land and minta hantar ke Dali Olympic International Sport Centre and we decided untuk cari kedai halal berdekatan dekat situ and we found Greenway road 大理绿道 yang banyak kedai halal dekat situ, berderet kedai dengan logo qing zhen, agak jauh juga berjalan dari Olympic sport centre tu huhu. After that we continue our journey (walking) towards to one of tourist attraction spot which is the Xingshen bridge yang menghubungkan Xier river. Then we continue our journey towards to the Olympic sport centre tu, kiranya kita pusing lah lol. Otw we find this one spot, park berhampiran dengan tasik sungai yang sama. We spend around 1/2 kot dekat sini sambil tunggu didi pick us up and back to Dali Ancient City.

We spend our last night at Dali Ancient City, and go back to the same souvenir shop lol to shopping for the last time. Santai2 jalan malam tu, Chagee tubler hunting lol plus Mixue pun ada tumbler. Then we back to our hotel untuk kemas2 untuk check out esok paginya s our train to Kunming is early morning huhu.

19/1 (Ahad)
  • Dali Train Station
  • Kunming Railway Station
  • Shuchen Street
  • Shuchen Street Mosque
  • Nanping Pedestrian Street
  • Xishan Park
  • Longmen Park
  • Kunming Airport
Alhamdulillah sampai je Kunming Train Station, we decided nak store our luggage dekat nearest store which is dekat Kunming Station tu ada locker tapi kitaorang dah ter-exit dari station tu and a bit susah untuk masuk balik sebab dia one way gg. Then gigihlah cari nearest locker sampaikan we decided untuk book satu hotel budget semata untuk store our luggage lol dekat area Dongfeng Square tu. Dekat Tanzixiang Station tu ada satu mall yang connected to the station which is Concierge Mall if im not mistaken, try to ask the receptionist if got locker and they said yes got locker at the basement but once we tried to purchased the locker, renyah gila sebab kena guna wechat lah, passport lah so conclusionnya memang menyusahkan lah. Then pergi balik dekat receptionist tu dia kata takpe boleh simpan dekat kaunter receptionist tu lol, jimat! servis diaorang sangat baik ya, orang dia pun sangat membantu, A+. Dekat situ barulah dapat dengar diaorang speaking English tu pun sepatah2 then sambung google translate yang penting effort. kah!

Settle luggage, from Tanxiziang station we stop at Dongfeng Square stion to go to Shuncheng Street to find those halal street. Then we stopped at one of the qing zhen restaurant to grab some lunch before continue our journey. Lepas tu kitaorang singgah solat dekat Shunchen Street Mosque, time tu orang baru habis solat zuhur so nampaklah ramai juga muslim dekat situ and rata2 semua berkopiah putih ye huhu bagus betul. Nak solat dekat sini pun macam renyah juga actually sebab ruang solat lelaki, ruang solat perempuan, tandas lelaki dan perempuan semuanya asing. Gigihlah dengan sejuk2 berwudhu plus semua toilet dekat situ takde pipe tapi ada teko dekat luar tu, so isi air dalam teko and bawa masuk dalam bilik air tu huhu.

Selesai solat, beli roti near tu masjid then we proceed to strolling around to Nanpin Pedestrian Street. Baru lah merasa vibe2 bandar ala2 BB lol. Jalan2 banyak juga Nampak stall2 qing zhen dekat situ, memang luas kawasan tu and kitaorang tak sempat nak cover seluruh Nanping Pedestrian as we want to proceed to our next stop which is to feed seagull near to Xishan Park.

We stop at Xishan Park which is station yang terakhir and sampai2 tu there's a small shopping street near to the station. Agak menarik juga kalau melepak dekat situ sebab ada a few option of qing zhen restaurant. Then we planned to go to Dianchi Park for feed the sea gull but we manage to stop at longmen park je as the seagull only appear during morning je huhu. Then we proceed back to pick our luggage before depart to the airport. Settle pick up our luggage then we direct go to the airport as our ticket is 2.30am huhu. Sampai awal dekat airport sebab battery phone semua masing2 dah nazak. Dekat airport misi memunggah bag takut terlebih kg lol. Nasib baik chagee buka lagi that time so kitaorang lepak dekat situ sementara tunggu masa untuk check in. Settle check in and wait for our call to depart. Masuk2 je dalam plane, tak sempat stewardess nak buat safety brief masing2 dah tak sedar and tahu2 dah sampai. Serius tak sedar sebab dah penat sangat lol.

20/1 (Isnin)
  • KLIA
Alhamdulillah selamat touch down Malaysia pagi tu around 7am huhu. Maka berkahirlah our journey to Yunnan, China.

Accomodation

  • Shangrila - Jimeiduoji Inn
We booked 2 deluxe rooms and 1 triple rooms located at Dukezong Ancient Town through trip.com. After booked the hotel, directly ask for wechat id at trip.com messaging, senang nak contact kalau dah sampai. The hotel near with qing zhen restaurant and the staff tersangat lah friendly dan membantu. Tanya apa je semua dia tolong, Hotel was super helpful! They picked us up from Shangrila station for free, no charge! Shiok! We also asked them to book a tour to Balagezong, and they found a cheap deal. Highly recommended! I think this hotel was the most comfy we stayed at in all of Yunnan sebab hotel ni je ada underfloor heating system. Baring dekat lantai lagi rasa selesa sebab panas, yelah musim sejuk en lol. Overall, I highly recommend Jimeiduojji Inn for anyone visiting Shangrila. It’s a perfect blend of comfort, charm, and hospitality that truly enhances the travel experience. I can’t wait to return! walaupun style design ni ala2 kayu kayan, Tibetan style tapi sangat memuaskan.

  • Tiger Leaping George - Tina Guest House
We booked this place for just one night, you know, hostel type lah. The place is separated for guys and girls, and the girls' rooms have their own toilet inside. Super convenient! Kitaorang yang lelaki ni dekat luar bilik, gigihlah sejuk2 pergi bilik air huhu. Tapi bilik sangat selesa sebab katil dia besar plus that time ramai dah check out so dalam bilik kitaorang lelaki tu only with one of this mat salleh and the girls dapat satu bilik and no need to sharing with strangers la. The hotel is very friendly ye and able to speak a little bit English so dapatlah dia faham yang kitaorang cuba sampaikan, I think the mother is the owner of that hotel kot, tolong kitaorang arrange kan didi lah, arrange kan bus to Lijiang la, sangat2 tiptop customer service diaorang plus the mother able to speak English but tkadelah fluently pun tapi sembang dengan dia takyah pakai translator pun. Highly recommended!

  • Lijiang - Lijiang Walu Inn
Sama juga we booked our hotel through trip.com, after  booked je we asked for wechat id. Arrived at Lijiang, the hotel help pickup our luggage to the hotel. We booked 3 bedroom as well and one of them got triple bed. Hotel ni okay lah, cantik2 gitu jelah, bila jalan dekat area ancient town banyak lagi hotel yang cantik2 act lol. Tapi so far hotel ni okay lah cumanya dia takde underfloor heating system, just harapkan heating aircond je huhu. Tapi diaorang punya customer servis sangat2 bagus ye, i think the owner is the couple tu sangat membantu lah, super friendly and sangat baik. Maybe next time kalua dating nak try cari hotel lain kot lol haha.

  • Dali - Xiaochengshanyue Inn
Booked through trip.com as well, this one request for wechat id bu the hotel didint reply o once arrived je terus call hotel ni nasib baik tak jauh sangat dari didi drop point plus the hotel location very strategic one i guess, easy to locate basically. The hotel sangat friendly juga and very helpful as my room for ct gt problem bila dating tu dia kasi tukar bilik lain yang lagi better plus tanya je apa dia terus tolong. Bilik semua bersih and sangat selesa. Highly recommended!

Food
I think makanan dekat sana sangat senang nak cari just cari tanda qing zhen which is tanda halal logo dekat sana. Merata juga dapat makanan halal dekat sana, jalan sikit je dah jumpa kedai halal tapi kena carilah plus kitaorang bawa juga our own pack food like Ready To Eat (RTE) macam kembara pack tu, Maggie, biscuit semua. Tapi apa2 pun makanan sana senang nak cari cuma kena gigih sikit google nak mencari, takpun tanya je hotel tu mana nak cari restaurant qing zhen semua mostly dekat sana diaorang aware dengan qing zhen punya restaurant, even dekat night market pun stall dia ada letak logo qing zhen, so sangat mudah what i can say and ofcoz Chagee is a must lol.

Line/Wifi
At first ingat nak cari any portable wifi tapi macam susah nak jumpa and mostly semua guna roaming or esim/simcard local. So we decided untuk proceed dengan beli esim dekat trip.com juga, which is quite affordable lah juga kot, at first ingat nak beli satu je esim then buat hotspot je tapi bila fikir balik nanti masing2 kena bayar guna Alipay and nak naik train semua so better semua ada esim sendiri atleast seorang yang incharge nak guna maps, nak guide tu beli dalam 30gb pun dah cukup the rest follower yang guna phone for communicate dengan social media beli dalam 10gb pun cukup selebihnya guna wifi bila dekat hotel. Oh ye, dekat hotel diaorang ada wifi tapi kena register dulu which is dekat setiap bilik dioarang ada qr code so kena scan through wechat scan dan register baru boleh guna, dia tak boleh terus connect wifi macam tu je. https://my.trip.com/things-to-do/detail/57042119

Transportation
Untuk transportation mostly banyak guna didi which is diaorang punya grab/taxi. Kitaorang start book untuk guna didi ni dekat dali, dekat situ baru try book didi sendiri sebab selama ni mostly dealkan dengan hotel je kalau nak kemana2, so diaorang boleh deal kan which is diaorang tolong bookkan pakai rate didi juga so kitaorang goyang kaki je just cakap je na kemana huhu. Bila nak try book didi for the first time macam renyah sikit tapi bila dah tahu nak pakai, actually senang je. Dekat Alipay ada features didi, so book through Alipay and dia akan deduct from Alipay which is sangat convenient lah, and kalau kita select taxi, nanti dekat dalam taxi dia akan minta kita 4 last digit phone no for verification, kalau guna taxi lah. Tapi guna didi sangat function lah tapi costing sikit kot. Bila dah sampai Kunming, baru rely on metro which is macam mrt lah, nak kemana naik metro je and metro dekat Kunming ni dia strict sikit which is dekat every station ada body scan dengan luggage scan so agak renyah lah bila bawa luggage, nak scan bagai tu yang paling kitaorang annoyed huhu. Bila naik train dekat Kunming ni just guna Alipay juga which is dekat bahagian train function, nanti bila kita select dekat train tu dia akan detect kita punya location so baru kita boleh guna, before nak guna tu kena verify dulu dengan passport semua so please verify once arrived dekat Kunming so nanti senang, bila dah verify dekat gate dia just display qr code, settle!

and one more thing, kitaorang gerak dari satu district ke satu district naik bullet train purchase dekat trip.com as well, like from kunming to shangrila semua purchase through trip.com but nak purchase ticket tu 1 week baru dia open so kena alert lah takut lambat nanti ticket habis. Bila naik train dari Kunming ke shangrila ni before naik kena claim physical ticket dekat kaunter tapi bila dari Lijiang ke dali, dali ke Kunming just scan guna pakai passport je no need physical ticket just ingat kita punya gerobok mana je as stated dekat ticket at trip.com.

Communication
Majority dekat sana ngak bisa berbasa ingris so must always prepare the translator lah huhu, guna lah segala translator yang available like apple translator, google translate. Even yes/no pun diaorang tak berapa faham, kalau hotel punya staff diaorang faham gitu2 lah tapi diaorang sangat friendly. As myself takdelah handal nau dalam speaking mandarin but kalau nak tawar menawar ke nak order makanan ke, basic tu ada lah tapi tu pun diaorang kadang2 tak faham kahkah. Kalau nak lagi senang guna wechat je sebab dekat wechat boleh auto translate so takyah bercakap tapi berwechat lol haha. Tapi apa2 pun takyah risau sebab diaorang sangat friendly nak tolong kita. Bila nak shopping souvenier tu, dengar kita cakap mandarin pun diaorang dah impress lol, dapat lah murah sikit. Tapi once arrived dekat Kunming, tempat2 macam dalam mall Nampak lah diaorang educated boleh speaking sikit walaupun tak berapa betul tapi Nampak beza bila dekat shangrila, Lijiang and dali.

Transaction/Payment
Aiyo, Alipay is the bomb! LOL haha, like, over there, I didn't even bother exchanging money to cash, you know? Just linked my card to Alipay or topped up my Alipay account. Most of the time, it's all online transactions. So, if you actually use cash, it's like a lucky thing! Even at the night market, everyone's using Alipay. Cash is like, super rare. Anything like Didi, train, whatever, mostly use Alipay. Super convenient, lah! But the only thing not so convenient is when your phone is about to die, huhu. Your phone is like, your life, man! Everything's on your phone, for translating, maps, paying, everything. Even nak naik metro dekat Kunming pun pay using Alipay. So, better bring a power bank! Even tukar cash pun balik still banyak lagi cash yang tak terguna haha. and one more thing is Wechat Pay, some merchant might only using wechatpay so better prepare siap2 and dekat Dali if you guys nak rent bicycle nak jalan2 dekat Erhai Lake tu only accept payment using wechatpay ye.

Navigation
Baidu is their google maps sebab some of places not in google maps punya radar, tapi tulah bila guna baidu ni their places in mandarin character so kena banyak translate first before cari dekat baidu tu. Tapi baidu ni function gila, nice gila very accurate lah even dekat traffic light pun dia ada countdown before change into green or red for stop. Sangat function lah, bila guna ebike kitaorang memang rely on baidu lah sebab some places dekat google maps tak boleh detect. Actually dekat baidu pun kita boleh grab didi tapi agak renyah sikit better guna dekat Alipay sebab nak bayar pun senang. Another alternative is Apple Maps, dekat sana Apple Maps still can be used la but as mentioned most of the place name is in Mandarin huhu.
